This is a morning-noon time bar/restaurant, I designed for a comic series with this design. I'd like some serious suggestions on this style that could improve on the "groovy" look. C+C please...

Maybe instead of doing i digital paitning style in photoshop, working in a vector app like illustrator might help you achieve your mental picture. that is one of the ways to go to make it 'groovy'.

the captain is right on here. the other avantage of vectors is the ability to realign your perspective. and gradients are applicable with ease for lighting effects. otherwise, using low opacity brushes over (or under) an underdrawing that you're satisfied with can make the layout work much simpler. definitely check out bengal for the perspective shots. he's got some real calssics.

good luck

Thanks for the replies, but I have another question. I am one without much dough, I'm still a jobless high school student, so Illustrator isn't something I can get my hands on easily, do you have another other suggestions for programs I can use to improve on these pictures?

Also, this new style is focused on 90-95% appeal, and 5-10% on the dynamics of light, perspective, etc. I'm going for an eye-catching look that one would recognize. I'd appreciate it very much if anyone had suggestions to improve on the appeal factor.

Thanks again Capt. Fred and Sometypeof.

registered versions of illustrator are easily obtained, ehmm for educational purposes.
