Is there some way I can remove the blue lines from lined paper, without effecting my sketch in PS7?

Thanks Razz

Uh, I could be off, I've never really tried this for lined paper, but it works otherwise.

But goto image>adjust>replace color select one of the lines, and just mess with the sliders... let me know how that turns out.

The only problem I see with that is that when you do the replace on the blue it lightens the pencil also. Even if I do levels, it still turns out too choppy to mask properly.

I know this one!

Make sure your image is set to CMYK mode.

Then go to Adjustment>Hue/Saturation

Select Cyans from the drop down menu.

Slide the Hue all the way to the left, and the Lightness all the way to the right.

Let me know if it works!

tbh - just convert the pic to grayscale and use the levels to lighten the midtone..

if u set to CMYK and take out the cyan - u'll b left with the magenta from the 'blue' won't u nerdface Smile

The blue lines that I think NewSpecies refers to, are in fact Cyan lines.

The method I discribed will work if those lines are in fact Cyan, but if they're actually blue, well... My bad!

It's still a great method to remove Cyan lines from your drawing...Very Happy

Rather than Adjustment>Hue/Saturation, I'd suggest using Adjustment>Selective Color. I've found it to be more precise.

He're's my drawing. I have tried a bunch of things to edit out those lines, but all in all I'll have to wait to get my light box to make a inked drawing on lineless paper.

There's always photocopying. If you're using a non-repro blue it should be pretty easy to copy without the blue. It will probably still require some clean up on the scanning side though.

I can't see the image you posted, but if you've already scanned it and are planning on reworking it in photoshop, why not just go ahead and trace it on another layer in Photoshop?

I'm not good enough to do that yet, I can trace things. But nothing turns out smooth or exactly like I wanted it too... Try going to the image URL
