Here is a few sketches out of my personal sketch book I carry everywhere with me. I draw in it every day, at least twice a day in it. It is a good habit to get into, so you can train the hand eye coordination, the eye, your imagination, etc. Filing away more visual reference into the brain.
These sketches took between 10-45 minutes each, depepnding upon how much time I have to waste. they are all done with a bic pen, I like sketching in pen more than pencil I think, you cant fix what you fug up...

Anyway, I'd like to see traditional sketches here, not your digital quickies...
and quick sketches, no more than an hour on them...lets see what we get...

One on my more finished sketches.....(they're usually a lot crappier than this),

Taken from a photo, about 45 to 1hr.

And a couple of others with that definite "not finished style" thing happening....

and one in pen, (a real rariety for me, this was felt tip not ball point)

All these are done from ref, (usually calanders mags or left over photo ref from work stuff). It's getting rare that sketch at all any more, (usually strait onto the comp), but I should do more...oh well, guess that's another thing to add to the growing list of need to do's....

Have fun!

I have a question for you experienced artists, how do people usually react if you are drawing them in a public place? Should I ask first or something I wouldnt make anyone feel uncomfortable. Also do they tend to want to see what you've done? Cause I'm a bit rusty and it wouldn't be pretty for awhile

That warthog with a gun looks suspiciously like Bebop, one of the mutant thugs from TMNT the cartoon.

Um, I'm not a dork, alright! So stop looking at me like that!

Like quite a lot of us, I'll scan decent and recent ones soon enough. For those already scanned (first one has one photoshop brown brush on it, that's all !:)) the rest is either pencil or sepia.
