Hello, everyone. I've been away from the forum for a while (working on actually getting some work), but was hoping you guys could give me some input for a project I just landed.
I'm currently working on a comic book from Moonstone Books. The project will be done in gray tone, as a means of saving on cost of coloring. However, as I'll be responsible for coloring the thing, I wanted to take a different perspective.
I'm looking to give the book an ink wash look, something akin to J G Jones' work on the Marvel Black Widow mini series, though pushing it a bit further to give it a very thorough, very interesting wash look. I just got Painter 6, but am having a bit of difficulty getting the effect I'm looking for. I've tried a number of combinations with the watercolor brush, but can't seem to get anything that looks much different from what I could do with the Photoshop airbrush and a filter.
Anyone have any brush settings or brushes they could recommend to achieve an ink wash effect? I'm looking for something that would appear authentic. I'd really appreciate any input.
Thanks all,
Brett |
