Was playing around with the design for some new banners/buttons for my site so I got animationshop out & started messing about...

/wonders what it is & what to do with it

After downloading the gif for ages over my isdn I found out what it is...

a way too big, ugly, total unnecessary animated gif that wasted too much of my time already.

So why not make something that you know what to do with or at least know what it is the next time!? That would make the world a better place for sure!

paws_of_gt: Hes kinda right though. U gotta make it something more relevant to the theme of ur site (of course ive never seen ur site so im not one to talk.) But i do like how u cant tell very much of where the animation ends and begins, unlike all those others where its so obvious. Just next time think about what will happen in the animation and what it is. I think thast will help u make a supa cool animation in the future.

it is pretty cool as is though.

See I walked into this forum under the impression it was to show "unfinished work" or "works in progress" for feedback, comments & ideas.

CwStone, it is in theme with my site, but not looking does kinda make that hard to work out.

I like it, just think adding text to it would mess with the fluidity.

I usually don�t reply in the rude way I did above, but some posts I read lately got my barrel filled and this was kinda the last drop and so it was your thread I replied to.
I�m even a bit sorry now, caus your reply was not a "don�t diss my art yo f00 and fuxx0rs off".

I�ll try to explain myself a bit now and be more polite about it

I�m not a fan of abstract stuff to start with, but imo your anim is somehow "pointless". It doesn�t get a message across, or at least I can�t figure it out. Thats what I meant with too big, it�s 700kb but still doesn�t give me any joy or information. I hope it�s more clear now.

I still would like to see something you�ve done and you know what it is supposed to be and what to do with it

This is one of the banners from my site.

This was the reason why the color scheme & abstract'ness of the Solaris animation is like it is, like I said, I was playing about to come up with new designs or color schemes.

Heh, 700kb is tiny compared to some of the other stuff I make.

As for going off on one, don't worry about it, just maybe next time, don't fire off on someone who is new to the comunity huh. (:

Now that i see ur banner, i think that animation is great 4 ur site. If u decide to use it (which i think u should, unless ur already makin something else) post the url 4 ur site. I want 2 see how it looks.

I have a comment on the MillDrug_Promo.gif animation. It seems like there's too much of a space between words. I know you may have wanted a pause for effect, but it seems a little too big. It loses flow and distracts your attention from it because it's just blank white space most of the time. Just a comment.

It is set to run at a certain length of time for a reason but I get the point you are making, it is not a "stand alone" image, but part of a bigger picture if you get my meaning. =]

Your words GIF is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. I went crazy whatching it. Nearly better now. I know fast isnt the way to go for it, but please not that slow. Interesting even suspenceful but it became agonizing near the end of the first sentence.
