This is a good start, I can see that you've taken consideration to make sure that the proportions are correct, but all in all, it's just a sketch. At you level right now sketching is all you should be worried about, but do ALOT more of them. Try and do atleast a couple pages of skecthes either from life or photographs everyday. On that note about this drawing I can see that you've just copied a photograph. Using photographs is fine, but you need to have a certin amount of understanding about structure and perspective to gain any knowledge out of them, I recommened reading Loomis's books at http://www.fineart.sk , they cover just about everything there is to know about illustration, and their free too Very Happy

Also, just to make a distinction between working from photographs and life is that photographs are flat, they can't give you the real sense of depth that drawing from life can. A good excersise to do is just walk around your house and just draw objects you see, it's boring as hell, but it really helps.

One last point to keep in mind about the learning process. In just about any dicipline there's always two elements to learning, "theory" and "practice". Drawing is no exception. You have your theory (Loomis's book about drawing theory.) and your practice ( drawing everything around you like crazy). Keep at it and you WILL make improvment.
