I used a photo I took of my father last year as reference for this digital painting, I plan on giving it to him for his birthday. Because I have never painted an older person before I managed to inadvertantly shave about 10 years of his appearance. 
Painted in PS 7
Took me roughly 7 hours.

Nice present to give to someone. I did a portrait of my gf to give to her for her bday last year too

| Yep. Pretty nice. Only thing is the composition what bothers me. I'm not pro to tell you but I would add a cloud somewhere on the upper right corner 'cause my attention is trying get away from there. The main point of the pic is obviously your dad's face but every time I try to look at him my attention goes upper right corner. Hope you got my point 'cause my english is pretty bad. :/ |
