Actually it's Terragen. It's possible to spot a Terragen render a mile away . . . which makes his decision to call them matte paintings all the more hilarious.

Geez... it's actually kinda easy to tell that there's something wrong with his site here. :p
In the characters section, there is a huge difference in the style of the drawings found there. :p
Plus, if his rendering skills were supposed to be sooo good, how come his "matte painting" renders look sooo different when compared to the quality of the ones in the "characters" section? ;p
Finally, it can't be his "wife". LOL...
Or this idiot decided it would be a smart thing to steal pple's images and mix them together with his. :p Hopefully not! I'm hoping we get to barbeque this guy.  |

You guys just comparing the 'design' of the site? With the 'image bar's' on teh left?
Other then that there is not much comparison. It's not a direct rip, and no code is ripped.
Not sure what the problem is here. His art is well speaks for itself.. Nice matte paintings..  but, seriously, what is wrong with a site looking like another site? Feng wasn't the first to make shi site like that, and I'm sure he won't be the last..
It's a website layout/design, not an art ripoff. I think the site is still WAY off from looking anything like fengs. Feng's is tight, clean/crisp and the other is not.

I couldnt get to the portfolio site today. He must have taken it down.
Ive sent a few e mails myself. He first removed Fengs work and left tje rest.
I sent him another e mail saying GOOD JOB! Now lets see if we cant get rid of the Poser models and the terragen "MATTE" paintings...
The whole site is down now. Im sure he recieved Dozens of hateful e mail and just decided to take it all down.
Another RIP OFF FILTER GOD has fallen.... 1,222,564,698,154,356 to go!! |

I might as well just upload a bunch of Ralph MaQuarrie concepts and say "Hey look at my neat scifi pictures". I work with the internet everyday and know as well as anyone what would happen...
I'm part of a couple forums myself so I know how a witch hunt starts and keeps going and going... I don't mind you all tearing my samples apart (some people call it critique  ) I do however find it kind of shocking how fast a lynch mob was formed. It seems only "imager777" was even close to being on track.
As for the Poser theory... A while ago Metareyes became free for MAX. Try it befor throwing those kind of accusations around. The clothes were made with Clothreyes and touched up in Photoshop. (Great for stills kind of worse for animations )
If you've read this far I would like to ask you all to please try and keep the hatemail to these kind of forums. The reason being a little girl at home who gets kind of confused when instead of mail from her grandparents theres a variaty of four letter words!
I know this won't end here though... I mean hey, we all like a witch hunt, right? :green: |

He drives 300km to use a scanner? So are we to assume it's 600km there and back? Whether it's 300 or 600, it doesn't really matter. Considering how much a tank of gas costs these days, he'd probably save money buying a scanner. Not to mention all that time wasted he could have spent making his *own* art. He's already proven he's not too bright by stealing the art, but this may just add another layer to it.

no one is saying this guy stole a site layout...he stole fengs artwork which is now taken down due to the mass response from the forum crowd.
the matte paintings are not paintings..they are simply digital images generated in a program called terragen...sort of like making a painting using the lens flare tool and saying you did it by hand....silliness.
he had a section of environments where he painted on fengs images...he adjusted color....and he tried to pass them off as his own in his attempts to get work in the game industry. that much is fact. had we not caught him it would have continued.
He pulled it down only because we put this thread up here and on s_ i j u_ n and on conceptart....and because of all the emails he recieved from upset artists.
i wish we had his images on here so we could post them to show you what he did.
art theft is not cool...feng works his ass off to be where he is.
there is no short road...it takes ten years to become proficient on a very very high level.
this guy tried to take the short road and fell off the cliff as soon as the companies he was trying to get employment from saw fengs work.
there is a line in "heavy metal" the cartoon...."Hangin's TOO GOOD FOR EM! Burnin's TOO GOOD FOR EM...he should be ripped into little bitty pieces and BURIED ALIVE!
lol...well not that harsh...but I love that line in the heavy metal movie....ya know..the trial where the guy is being judged for 50 counts of murder..200 counts of rape...the preschool prostitute ring...and something horrible dressed as a nun!...well scotty isnt that bad...
lesson be learned...DONT STEAL OTHERS HARD EARNED WORK. ever.

| All I can say is that I pitty him if what he sais is true. He'll never be able to set things straight now. But, if the opposite is the case then maybe he deserves what he's getting, I say maybe because it would have been worse as it has been said, if he had been hired, what would he have done if he had to present original art? That would have been a good show. |

Seriously, what happens when a prick like this actually gets hired and has to draw something? What if they, as some sort of informal interview, set him up in a desk and say "give us three environment drawings in the next 2 hours."? What is the hack going to do then besides fall on his face? I just don't understand the mentality of this bush leauge jackoff and the counless others just like him that are lurking out there. It's horseshit.

He would log on to the internet, find three envronments in 10 mins, change the contrast on them and submitt them with a post-it saying ".. these represent the same kind of setup I'm going for..." |
