i've been around these forums for some time. i suppose that i figured over time i would learn to use the tools that are shown to me every day that i visit this site, and i would come to be more adept at the traditional arts that everyone here seems to possess quite well. it's obvious as i go through college that my path isn't following what you folks do, per se, though a good many of you do what my path does lead to.

i'm looking to go into computer animation in some shape or form, be it just modeling, or actual animation. i've done some very basic searches for a forum that would more or less mirror the community i've found here, only, for computer animation. the obvious answer, however, was to come here and ask the community that i like so much- what forums/sites do you all frequent for critiques, support, and expertise? thanks.

I don't know of any other similar forums to base my opinions of it, but www.cgtalk.com is pretty useful to me. Community seems reasonable, sure everywhere has trolls but I have found you get a fairly quick and useful response from the community.

You SHOULD take a look on that site. There you find links to all 2D/3D forum available on the net!!!!!!!
You should also look into his gallery. Amazing modeling work!!!!!!!!!

i would recommend cgtalk ( very good and huge forum for maya/houdini/softimage/lightwave users) or the new forum on cgchannel.
