Hi All,
This is a WIP. The formula ( I know ) is work from back to front. I'm following it for the most part, but, I can't help but jump around the piece to keep my attention level up.
So, the buildings in the background arn't more than roughed in. The middle ground is almost there, as is some of the foreground.

That image is simply enormous! Seriously, compress it somehow. You've got it in JPEG format already so you must be able to customize its compression rating. What are you using to create it?
So I haven't actually looked at it yet because I've got it downing in the background while I'm typing - my download manager is telling me that it's upward of 1.3 MB, and it's still not finished yet.
I assume you're on some kind of broad band connection (1.5 MB and counting...)? I'm on a Dial-up as many others will be and you can't expect everyone to download that, and get a crit for it.
It's just hit 2 MB! And it's still going.
Seriously - compress it. _________________ "Pass me the banjo, that one there, good lad." -Socrates |

Sorry, I forget the poor souls who still suffer through dialup.
I edited the post at Solar Flare Studios to a smaller version and a detail.
Hope it loads faster. I'm looking for C&C. _________________ Where ever you go, There you are. |

I would give it some more space at the bottom.. there are all those little details to catch the eye but the canvas just ends... show that stuff. |

I would say that the details that are interesting about your picture are the little thigs that play such an insignificant role in the whole picture. You're little details I find much more interesting than having to drudge through the empty sky. If you want to show scale, figure out another way to do it other than giving alot of space in places. Show relationships more, and you should succeed more. The details are awesome, I give you that. But the overall picture is weak when the bottom is so refined. |

Thanks,
I will crop the sky back. You're right, there's far too much of it. Odd how such a simple but large void of compositional space can go right by the artist.
I had though of adding a dramatic cloudscape. Do you thuink that might wor as well, or should I just crop? _________________ Where ever you go, There you are. |
