Well, here is my newest piece. I decided I should created a "stunning" game art piece.
Created in Photoshop 6, I referenced 'Remus' from UT 2003, and sketched his pose in PS, and started coloring. This is prolly around 10-12 hours of work so far...
I should explain what I'm going to do in this picture.
I'll probably keep the starry background as is, but the moon is there for compositional purposes, I'm going to "paint" the moon and make it more brilliant.
And I can change the color of the pants easily so, they're no problem.
Then.
I think the color of the sky is going to change too, but not the stars.
I'm pretty much done up to the torso where there are armor bulks and stuff
Also the belt is not completely done yet.
The gradients in the background are going to be buildings later on.

Dang, no one likes the pants. And they took a great deal of time too! Meh, maybe I'll make them camo pants, or something that is somewhat baggy. _________________ Whoa, so if I type in here the text will appear in my sig? |

His left arm seems a bit in a un-comfortable position and maybe even his wrist may be a little bit too twisted. You could possible have him gripping the gun instead to make him look more ready (in a sense) for some action
The pants look well... maybe dont have those black lines in there... maybe gray or something a little lighter. And that strap around his right leg... just to break things up... you maybe should not put those stripes continuing through the strap but instead have it a solid color
Just suggestions. Everything else seems to be pulling together nicely.
Gluck!
Oh ya it would maybe help if you tried to add a few folds/wrinkles etc on the pants hehe. they look too perfect, or like he used alot of starch that day ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Meep meep |

You say ur gonna change the moon? I dunno, thats one of my favorite parts of the piece so far. I like the upper torso on the guy, but i dont like the pants. I think it would help if u put a lot of armor on them, this way u dont have to make the exact proportions of his all over again. Also, i think u should stay away from vibrant colors like that green. In my opinion, this would look better if it had dulled out colors.
But its looking really nice so far. GL! _________________ -Chase |

Thanks guys, these are really helpful suggestions. I've changed the colors of the pants, maybe that would help it a little, it toned it down a lot so it's not as 'annoying' but if not...
CwStone, adding armor is a good idea, I think I might just add it to it, that way I guess I could make it more of my character.
Anyway, thanks for all the comments. _________________ Whoa, so if I type in here the text will appear in my sig? |
