i've been accepted for the summer term (finally) and i'm just curious if any accd folk lurk here. i'll be visiting ac again to pick up my portfolio and talk to counseling/housing/financial aid people... but it'd be neat to talk to real students too.
cheers,

Steve-
Art Center is where I'm hoping to go in 1 1/2 years. Any pointers on portfolio/application/getting in?
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of financial aid can one hope to receive?

jimmyjimjim:
things that artcenter will like: previous college experience and a transcript or degree showing that you are not a lazy slacker like me . they do accept people out of high school but w/ less regularity. portfolio requirements are listed in the catalog and website. it's pretty straightforward. my portfolio consisted of a lot of life drawings a few paintings. sketchbooks are highly regarded.
financial aid... ac participates in all the major grants. a definite plus if you've lived in cali for 2 years or so (for the cal grant). again, lots of info in the catalog. i'm trying to figure out financial aid myself so i don't know much yet.

and get a catalog if you don't have one already. they just released a new one and it's pretty rad. my favorite out of the 3 i've seen so far.

Jucas is a half-time Art Center kid. Haven't seen him online lately, but I'm sure he'll pop up soon. |
