Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas was a great movie. I think one of my favorites is Buffulo 66. Oh and Rocky Horror Picture Show (I have it on video).
Worst? Any action-adventure movie I've ever seen... that had no point... or creativity... basicly most all of them...

The worst movie ever has to be 4 hours of a big boat sinking... you guessed it Titanic. The dislike could be the fact that I drank way too much before I went into the movies, or that the ending was so surprising... big ship sinks thousands die who would have guessed... not the chick behind me!
The best resent movie has to be Stir of Echoes, Bone Collector, and Sixth Sense. I also like The Crow, Prophacy I, II, and III, Blade, and Sudden Death. |

Worst: Stuart Saves His Family. Actually, any SNL sketches turned into full movies (except for Wayne's World and The Blues Brothers, of course).
Best: Seven Samurai (hell, anything by Kurosawa), Rushmore, Last Temptation of Christ, Blade Runner, Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Godfather, 400 Blows, Citizen Kane (I had to...), and Delicatessen.

I like the classic Horror movies like Hellraiser, the Evil Dead and nightmare on elm street although the sequels suck like hell!
But I prefer the maffia movies like Goodfellas, Casino, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs...
The worst movie(s) ever?
"Revenge of the Nerds part 2, 3 and 4"
Part 1 was nice, do you know the pussies??
Yummie! *heheheheheheheheh*
*wink* *wink*
BTW, some porn movies suck real hard too...

Worst movie ever made:
This short piece of shit we made with a friend's video camera. Whatever redeeming qualities it might have had were ripped out in editing. *brr* Just pray to God you never have to see that appaling 5 minutes of utter bollocks.
Sergeant Kabuki(or something like that), is literally the only movie I COULD NOT watch because it was so appalingly BAD. It was racist, sexist, disgusting, poorly acted, directed and shot... People responsible for that kind of stuff should be shot on sight, no questions asked. (Except me and my friends, 'cause we had the decency of protecting the innocent by destroying the only copy of our video.)
And I usually watch REALLY bad movies, and actually enjoy them just for the fact that they are SO bad. (Can you say "Howling 4", "Plan 9 From Outerspace", "Barbarella" or any of the "Mortal Kombat"-series of movies.)
Can't say what's the best movie. It would be like choosing which parent you love more...
EDIT:
I hate typos.

Worst movie is Battlefield Earth, god that sucked.
Best: Rocky!

God... I can't believe I forgot Goodfellas!! I've watched that movie over and over and over! I love that movie. Same with Natural Born Killers, though I haven't seen the uncut version yet. But I will buy/rent it now that you got it on my brain. Casino was good... but no where as good as Goodfellas.
Has anybody seen "Ice Storm" that's a good movie too. What about Buffulo 66? Great movie.

Jeez...Am I the only one old enough here to remember the most terrible movie of all time??? Just to refresh your memories, there was a little movie with Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman called Ishtar. Man I feel REALLY old now.
BTW, since everyone else is posting their personal fave I guess I will too. Number one on my list is an independent film called Swingers with Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau. |

I can't believe nobody has said this one yet... Best movie of all time: HALF-BAKED! God that movie was so funny...
Lots of bad movies... I don't see the point in mentioning them, since most were already mentioned. (Die, Leo, die...)

ooo, a movie thread! I cant resist..
I'll name my favourite directors instead, in no particular order: tarantino, cohen brothers (barton fink, fargo, lebowskji), john woo (his hong kong stuff, only the action parts though), tarkowski (solaris!! probably the best sci.fi movie ever.. hypnotic and russian) terry gilliam (fear and loathing, 12 monkeys, brazil, monthy python and the holy grail.. oh yes, a true genius!) david lynch (what other movie than eraserhead can you see more than 5times in one week and still figure out stuff about it? though I'm starting to suspect that lost hihgway was a pointless failure..)
then some movies that sort of affected me:
alien 1: I saw half of it when I was 9.. that night when I tried to sleep I was SURE there was something living inside my stomach and I swore to kill myself if there was any sign of extraterestrial life sometime. that's the price of imagination i guess.. I allways had nightmares when I watched movies
I think i was 13 or 14 when I saw se7en.. I thought it was REALLY good.. thrilling and exiting.. well now I was too old to have nightmares all the time so I lay awake all night and thought about the movies' message.. well.. hate and vengance never lead to anything good.. I've never tried to get my revenge on anyone since that.. it's pointless
here's some more recent favourites: being john malkovich. fight club. ..can't wait for princess mononoke to be released on dvd..
yesterday i saw gladiator.. I liked the opening battle.. the story, well I didn't expect anything, but they could have shortened it down quite a bit. and some more humor wouldn't have hurt.. rating: 6/10
enough!! :P |

You forgot Fincher. And yet you mention two of his films: Se7en and Fight Club.
Some more directors: Kurosawa, Wachowski bros.(I was a fan even pre-Matrix, so hah!), Eisenstein, Burton, etc. etc. ad infinitum. I think I posted these in a thread once already?
"lost hihgway was a pointless failure.." Bah! No body seemed to have liked Lost Highway because it didn't seem to have a cohesive plot, but that's the whole point! No other movie (and I've seen some strange shit in my time) has ever scared me as much as this movie. In a dark theater, the FEEL of the movie was just so intense. Lynch plays with our irrational fears, and makes Bill Pullman walking in his own house when it's dark seem positively gut-wrenching. You try pulling that off...
With the rest I agree, for the most part, but I liked Gladiator more than 6/10...
"Ernest Hemingway once wrote: 'the world is a fine place, and worth fighting for.'
I agree with the second part."

>Affected,
Brazil is a reeeeeeeeeally weird movie...
Just like Micheal Mann's "The Keep"...
Very weird stuff, example:
Nazi's in a fantasy world and with a very weird synthesizer music on the background...Nah!
Very amusing though...
I quess this is getiing off-topic...
Hmmm...aah well...

yeah fincher is great.. I like the game too.. I like it A LOT come to think about it .but not as much as fight club, I wrote my essay in "media aestethics" on that one and watched it about 7-8 times.. mmmmmmm, it's so DANM good looking.. but more than that there's a chewy center as well.. if you examine it closely you'll find lots of neat metaphores and neat touches for instance, the awesome flythrough of the brain in the opening credits starts at "the amigdala", the part of the brain that trigger emotions. thus fighting=feeling and scars=experiences etc etc.. also, the twist IS quite obvious if you watch it twice
ofcourse I like a lot more stuff.. it's just hard to remember everything ..cant believe I didn't mention the mafia guys: scorses, dePalma (untouchables!! scarface), francis ford coppola
lost highway: sure I was entertained while watching.. the "feeling" is truly great. but I had huge expectations on this movie. in the end there was nothing to really "solve", to figure out what the hell was going on.. here's the conclusions I came to: man gets fooled by woman and dies from it, then he gets ressurected and does it again.. but it was a long time since I saw it, and I've only seen it once so I'll shut up now ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

*FIGHT CLUB SPOILER*
You have been warned.
Cute thing I noticed (among others) in Fight Club:
Tyler Durden states at one point (after seeing a Gucci-add) that "Self improvement is mastrubation." Later on in the movie, when Marla and Tyler are "sport-fucking", you see the Narrator lifting weights, ie. "masturbating". Just one of the little things I picked up.
