Hey guys, working on this, any help/advice/critiques/comments are very welcome.
Started small(actually half this resolution), since I can't bring myself to be brave with color and light on a big canvas!
I scaled it up to 2000 wide. Started noodling on the left forground. I was fairly happy at this point, so I decided to keep going!
Noodling the right side + doing level adjustments. I'm happy with the forground so far, so I'll start on the BG.
Here I'm defining things in the background. I'm not really comfortable now though, so any thoughts on where to go from here would be great! It'll be used in a quick little flying-device fly by animation I'm doing. Thanks! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ -Anthony

ahh that is super-nice.
I am not a pro but maybe the hollow room could be toned down a bit although it seems like there is some sunlight coming in there. And the rock to the left looks like it is out of perspective but I am sure that plateau could maybe look like that in the reality but I think it gets confusing in the picture.
Anyway I think the picture is super-nice and I cant paint like that, so I am not trying to be a smart ass I just wanted to help out a bit and maybe I am wrong about the above mention things, if that is the case you can teach me, hehe
have a nice weekend and chill

Ahh. Reminds me of good old adventure games from the 90's. Point'n'click adventure games. Your character would appear on the path down in the left corner and when you clicked on the bridge he would follow the path behind the pillar and appear on the top of the bridge. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Hey guys, thanks for the great comments!
Matthew - Yeah, the perpsective could well be off, I didn't draw out any grid lines. Probably oughta, but I'm not even sure where anything is in this one And by all means, I want comments and critiques from artists of all levels of experience. And remember, that's what it is, your experience - never think that someone's good because of raw talent alone, everyone that's even just struggling to edge above mediocrity like me is getting there through work work work!
Thor - Like this?
No one tell Lucasarts, don't need a lawyer stealing my mail! :] _________________ -Anthony

Yay! Actually I imagined he would have been smaller - half the size. I see it as being a huge bridge.
Hmm. Come to think of it - you can't determine the size of the bridge. Not a mistake from the artist, but a problem with Mother Nature
But anyway... You have just clicked 'Look' and clicked on the ground way below. Guybrush steps closer to the edge and almost falls down. Mighty Pirate - yeah right ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) |

Yeah, I hope you are keeping the Pirate for the Animation flyby, that would be awesome.

Hey guys - yeah, I envisioned the bridge larger too, but then Gurbrush was too tiny, so I enlarged him Two more steps and the pic's done, unless one of the deities around here wants to suggest something(Craig, Ron, Micke, anybody, mmm?).
I was unhappy with the BG before, and our lovable Capn Flush suggested a different perspective, bigger, closer, for the canyon walls. I took to the idea like Italians to lasagna(I can say that because I'm Italian ;] ).
Just cleaning up, detailing, etc etc. I'm happy with it, and although it could obviously be better, its probably experience that would make it so. That magic something that Spooge puts into his pics to throw them over the top. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ -Anthony
