i had trouble figuring out the exact same thing, anyway, here's what i do...
first i'll get down the main values, at full 100 percent opacity....then i'll lower my brush opacity to around 20, and select one of the colors and gradually go into the other color...i also keep my finger on the 'alt' key so i can select new color easily right off the canvas
lets say for example you want a seamless transition from blue to red here....
first you'd put your brush opacity down to around 20....select the blue and start to brush into the red, then do the same with the red, select the red and brush into the blue.... you should get something like this
now because you've bumped the opacity down and started brushing you'll start to get a purple color..you now hold the alt key to select the purple color and continue painting with that color, still on a low opacity until you get a smooth transition,
this was done with the soft edged airbrush.....which allows some pretty smooth blending, but it can get muddy....i hope that was of some help |
