Surrender.

pale like the first snow.
cold as the tempting, tentative touch,
of the shivering frost.

dim like the early morning -
smooth, and sugary,
like the lingering taste of chocolate.

warm, as only a spring morning can be,
delicate like a child's fingers.

surrender.

surrender me.

cool like the blade of a dagger.

Aaanyway, about the picture: trying out more, new stuff again. After a few very quick, fun pictures, I decided to do something a little more serious. It's far from perfect, and there's something odd with her pose, but I'm leaving it like this.

Thanks for your time =D

Sure super nice Smile and you are cool with these poems attached. Smile
The transparent cloth on her is totally amazing, is that drawn from fantasy or do you use reference? Theres magic in this piece and Im charmed...hehe Smile

I like the mood and the colors. The painting would be perfect if You had made the perspektive right. The Viewer is on one Level with her shoulder. In this case the edge of the rope touching the ground would have to be more rounded because we see it from above.

Amazing work!! incredible rendering with a classical touch.
Besides the minor proportion / perspective issues already mentioned I would like to see the man's dagger more obvious. If the woman wasn't holding one, I would've a hard time to realize that he was holding another. Maybe he could be holding it behind her, as he seams a little passive with both hands behind.

Anyhow, your rendering skills are breathtaking, keep it up!

Great as always.

For a second there, she seemed to be repulsed by him? Maybe it's the slight frown she looks like she's got on, or the way her face is tilted slightly away from him?

cool.
the expression on both their faces are great, is he holding a blade as well?
some portions of the people look different from the rest of the piece though.

In Photoshop I use a combination of Hard & Soft Brushes at very low opacity to build the colors on.

I posted this at my forums, so I might as well post it here =) Closeup on the faces and the lace:

Osto: Thank you =) Och... tack s jttemycket =) Verkligen smickrande, ven om jag sjlv inte riktigt knner mig som ngon stor konstnr ;]

Matthew: Thanks =) I spent a lot of time on her clothes. They're mostly painted from a combination of my own mind and reference from curtains and different dresses I have at home - though the bottom lace was inspired by a wedding dress I once sawa =)

Sleepwalker: Glad you like it =D

Daniel Lieske: Ah, perspective - I always screw it up ;] Thankee.

William Wilette: I'm sure you don't =)

Chuckles: I knooooow.... her hand looks muchly screwed up. I'll see if I can do something about it later. Thanks =)

ZeeWire: I actually didn't want his dagger to be seen ;] A lot of people look at the painting and don't even notice the fact that he's holding a dagger - something that I fully intended. Some seem to think he's a victim, and if that's how they want to interpret it - I don't mind at all. I placed both daggers very close to the edge of the painting for a reason =) Their bodylanguage is... pretty much exactly like I wanted it, too - minus anatomical issues =) There's a conversation and interaction going on in there - that's why their poses look like they do.

Paranoid?: Yesh, very evil hands ;] I'll see if I can fix it. Thankee =D

Lunatique: Mmmm... take a look at his expression on the closeup =) I say nothing, but there's stuff going on between the two of them =) Thanks!

Groady: Hahah, don't know if they're awesome, but, yes, I do fairy pictures - I love fae. Thankee.

Fafnir: Yes, he's holding a blade. Thankee =)

RONIN SIX: Thanks ;] How about the true essence of some |men|?

Matthew: Aw, I'm flattered =D

gfsap: How do I make the skin so smooth? Er, well... um... I paint in adobe photoshop - with a wacom pen. If you paint with very light strokes on top of each other, repeatedly, you get a rather soft appearance to the picture. I occasionally use very light smudging, too, but I'm trying to get away from that =) Thanks =)

Max Kulich: Thanks =)

Andromeda: Aw, thank you =}

everyone will hate me for this but whatever, your work is always spectactular but your so damned limited to making everything "pretty" of course your an incredible artist .... its just that Ive lost interest in your work because I already know what to expect from you not that you should care because everyone has the right to do what they love to do. I dunno....keep up the pretty I guess because you make it look ...pretty
