Does anyone know where I can find a 3d-model of a human body (for Maya, Lightwave or in DXF) where I clearly can see the anatomy of the muscles?

I want it because it's always dificult to imagine the muscles actual form in an anatomy-book since you only see it from a few angles. So I need the 3d model to rotate the body and see how things really looks like..

So if you know where i can find one, PLEASE let me know Very Happy

have you tried Poser? i know that many people like to use Poser figures for reference. i don't know how articulated the muscle structure is on these models, but it might be just what you're looking for.

edit- forgot the link: http://www.curiouslabs.com/

It may not be exactly what you're looking for, but you can't get more accurate than the Visible Human Project. For those of you that don't know, they took a cadaver, froze it, and cut off one tiny slice at a time, taking a picture at each stage. Taking a quick look at the page, I can't find anything terribly useful, but perhaps you'll have more luck. There are several links to other projects that use the information, perhaps one of them could help? Good luck.

In my opinion this is the best 3D human character for learning anatomy :

But don't get them developed at Walmart! Especially if you are around 12 and your dad is the special photographer.

haha...seriously though I think you might find the Elliot Goldfinger book more helpful compared to other books. There's a lot of cross-sections and the muscle/bone connections are very clear - of course it helps to have a real skeleton or good reproduction.

When people model the muscular system in 3d software they usually change stuff to fix collision problems that happen during animation, dont count on it being totally accurate unless it's meant for the study of anatomy.
