You never run out of great ideas, do you?
Because you said it still looks strange I took a closer look!
The only thing I can think of is that the pattern on the glasses doesn't fit too well.
Maybe add eyelids (just to add depth)? The hair seems to hang into his eyes ... ouch
[edit]The right arm look as if you worked sloopily there [/edit] _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org

Ragnarok & Capt. Fred - Thank you. I guess it just dosent feel natural yet. I'll keep working on it, see what else I can come up with
AndyT - Again with the awsome C&C!!! (thank you!) I do run out of idea's, so I dont try anymore. Whatever happens, happens. I dont know what I'm gonna draw or am drawing until its at least 50% complete in most cases. I agree on the classes, dont know how to do cool reflections yet. The depth in the eyes, I thought about, but ignored due to I just wanted to think about the line art. (Same with the hair) And the right arm, my fine point pen died, I finished it with a blunt sharpie LOL. (shhh, dont tell) _________________

you're definitely improving, but i have some suggestions which you may or may not find useful...
try to find some of tim townsend's inking for some examples of slick linework - he has very smooth thick-thin transitions. look at where he puts the weight in the line - at the elbow? at the forearm? wrist? etc... he's just one example though, and may not be entirely suited to your style.
also i think that rather than software, traditional media (hunt 102 pen/raphael 8404 brushes + india ink) still have digital methods beat (only for inking, that is).
check out larry dempsey's inking survey to find out how the masters do it:

OK good luck |
