Hi guys,
I did a manual trace using the wacom tablet to outline the body shape of a human body in a digital picture. The thing is that, since I am using the pencil tool to trace with multiple strokes... The image on illustrator is full of open paths... How do I close them all so that I can color then using the fill tool or make modifications to their dimensions as a whole without much effort? Please Enlighten! Thanks! |

There is really no easy way to do this...
You've got the right Idea by doing it manually though. I'm not sure how much you know illustrator, but you really have to wrap your mind around how the program works and create accordingly. For example if you were to draw a happy face for example
(I really need to find a place to host images) Anyway, If you were drawing that happy face, You'd start with a closed path defining the major shape. In this case the Yellow circle, next you'd do a second closed shape for the mouth and fill it with white. Now the eyes can be open paths such as straight lines.
Now as ridiculously simple as this seems, that's the same way you trace photos. Start with the major shapes and colour areas and leave the open paths for the detailing work. Hope this helps, If your completly new to illustrator hop on over to www.thinkdan.com Lot's of beginer and intermediate tutorials for photoshop and illustrator. _________________ Mike
