i rarely believe what is written on the internet and that is why it is so hard to believe that video games are illegal in Greece. Anyone here from Greece that can verify that?
like what the hell is wrong with this world, we worry about human rights and shit and now we gotta worry about our entertainment being taken away... |

Living at Poland you don't have to worry about that shit. As well as worrying about surviving at Niger or not getting shot at Campton ghetto. So you're ok :0 |

The Greek embassy in Stockholm state that while the law in it's current form states that basically every form of electronic gaming is forbidden, this was not at all intended to begin with.
The idea was to limit hazard-games involving money, both publically and privately, but as said they overshot a bit in that regard.
It'll likely be re-written during the fall, so hey.
That's their story and I'm sticking to it... for now

Heh banning ALL games is a bit cwazy :P I understand games such as GTA3 which serve no purpose (as in no moral story except just kill kill kill -- well some ppl find it 'erotic in an entertaining sense' lol...) But like pacman? Cmon? ... Its like banning the olympics! Well maybe not but imagine the olympics being banned :/ Ah well |

Hello I'm umm... new here, well it certainly not the proper way to introduce oneself but the whole video game thing is becoming an awkward joke (I live in Greece) so I decided to post.
Like Lolion said, it was aimed (apparently) for the money-involved games, but if you read it, in the second articles it states that it is forbidden to play and/or install any game that require the present of a pc/mobile or any other electronic device. Anyway the law, the way it is phrase, is against some of the articles of Constitution itself, freedom of thought - I'm not sure if this is the right word to use - and other human rights among them (decision of the court 10/09/2002), so it apparently will be revised. The funny thing is that until then it exists and therefore can be put in use.
*thinks* So, that means when installing say windows I have to make sure that the accessories/games files are disabled? *gags*
