The girl's abdomen looks a little too distended. Not like she has a gut.... More like she's a couple months pregnant or something?
Anyway, I love the demon dudes as usual.
Only really noticeable problem I see in your male anatomy is that some of their biceps are too big. Don't get me wrong, I realize their supposed to be "super-buff", but the back part of the upper arm (triceps, etc.) is actually a much larger muscle grouping than the bicep area. Right now, your dudes are toting these enormous biceps that kind of dwarf the rest of their upper arms, making them look slightly un-proportionate. Is this making any sense to you?
Again, great work. It's just I know you've been working on improving your anatomy skills as of late and I thought I point out some things that looked off to me before they become commonalities in your stuff.
Keep it up dude, can't wait for the next batch.
~Malachi
[Edit: Didn't notice the second batch of sketches you'd posted. Most of those dudes arms are from a side view and they look great. The only time I'm noticing the "bicep problems" is when you draw the arm from a frontal view and that's only in some cases.... Anyways, take it easy.] _________________ l i q u i d w e r x |

Bbound - Dude that did the Star Wars covers? Name sounds familiar, I'lll look him up.
ynobei - Thanks, newbies welcome too
Malachi - I haven't really been aware of doing bi's over big for the tri's, these look ok to me. The Tri's on the side of the Big orc dude you mentioned coulda popped bigger tho, yeah. I'll keep an eye on it anyway, cheers mate. |

Yea, I know I was being a bit nit-picky and like I said, it's only some not all of your males.
Here's a quick sketch over of one of your sketches to try and give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
Hope you don't mind brotha.

Don't mind at all bro. The arm's meant to be turning more in than that tho, so you wouldn't actually of seen that part of the tri, if you get what I mean. You've kinda just changed the angle of the arm.. I don't find either to be 'wrong', they're just from different angles. Maybe the angle wasn't clear enough, if I defined the brachialis muscle between the bicep and tricep abit, probably would have made that more clear.
Further thoughts on oversized biceps.
Thinking about it realistically, anatomy and muscle grouping doesn't always develop with exact symmetry, some bodybuilders had oversized chests, some oversized legs, etc, they weren't always in exact proportion. So again I don't really find oversized bi's to be 'wrong' or an impossiblity in anatomy.
The big bi's has always been a trait in my stuff tho (bisley influence no doubt), it's actually reduced considerably if you ever saw my old stuff. Bisleys anatomy was kinda caracaturish oversized bodybuilder style, which influenced me alot back in the day. I've been trying to push away from that for the most part.
Frazetta actually found the bodybuilder style stuff ridiculous, founding massive bi's to not be of much use in a strong powerful fighter build, and put more emphasis on shoulder, tricep and forearm arm power, which is amore logical way of thinking about it. It's all just different opinions, preference and drawing styles at the end of the day.
Again this is probably going into too much detail, I'll keep it in mind anyway, cheers for the input ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Heya Cos. Check your email mate, sent it to [email protected], hopefully that's the right one. Sketch's are looking good, you've got those orc's down to a T. I'm particular digging the pictures where you're playing around with the perspective, and not going head on. |

great stuff as usual, cos. i kind of see malachi's point with the biceps, but it didn't really leap off the page at me either, so i'll just chalk it down to style.
bisley's one of my faves too, although he seems to have disappeared in the past few years. come to think of it though, he did do some work on the tv series 'spaced'... seen it? it's about a comics artist ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Really awesome work cos. I especially like the fifth and the last of the first batch. The simplification of the parts in shadow is a nice touch. I also like the really rough sketches a lot because they look so loose and dynamic. I'm not saying i don't love the rest of them; it's all wonderful. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

sleepwalker - thanks very much!
Immi - cheers mate, check your mailbox
Gezstar - Thanks man, nice to see another sijuner from my part of the world here too, we a rare breed Yeah Bisley has been abit quiet on the comics front, last I heard he's been doing concepts for games. Know he did some work on FAKK2 animation aswell as some comic stuff stuff he was working on for the coolbeansworld website (which has mysteriously dissappeared). Think he's been learning digital art aswell. Here's a link to his wpage which has a news section, hasn't been updated for a while tho.

Spaced was a class series btw! well funny, loved it.
NovaCaptain - Thanks very much, glad you liked them. Nice work in your sketchbook too, think you showed alot of diversity in style which I enjoy looking at. |
