Reminds me of Mumra from Thundercats. Too me the main problem seems to be that its too blurry, and some of the black linelike areas need to be cleaned up some to give a clearer image. It could use some lighting too, but that's okay as is. |

I beg to differ, The light/shadow situation is currently what's keeping this picture from being a lot better, not the blurryness. Choose an illumination that will favour your subject, set a mood that will be the most likely to be coherent with your characters.
Composition is also something you should take a closer look at...the big eye on top of the image is drawing way too much attention away from the center of the image and the characters. Texture is probably the last thing you should worry about.
Here is a paintover, it was cropped to take the big eye away and some hooded figures were added in the background. The lower left guy was taken up a little so his head wouldn't be cut off and a painted a hand on his head to indicate that he's a skeleton of less importance.
The light was changed to give way for a darker, less brightly colored mood and i painted more of the guy;s face in because i don't think that the sharp black shadow was helping his looks all that much. I took some attention away from the collar etc. The accessories you put on a character aren't supposed to be the main attraction IMO.
