HI! I've noticed a small very annoying thing about my new monitor, I've bought the sony f520 http://www.sony-cp.com/en/products/crt/f_professional/f520/
the thing is that next to every edge there's a duplication of that edge, like if the monitor is seeing double. if I have a small icon on a white background the icon edge appears a few mm next to the icon.
I've drawn the lines on a PS toolbar screenshot , as u se it's hardly noticeable but it gets worse when I increase the refresh rate form 85hz 1600 to 100hz at 1600.
I tweaked on the convergence thingy but it doesn't have anything with convergence to do, these are b&w things!!
my old monitor doesn't show theese lines and I'm angry because I don't pay 1500 bucks for seing double.
thanx in advance

All trinitron have this problem i think. I bought a sony21' and noticed the EXACT same thing, the popular term that describe this phenomenon is called "Ghosting"
http://groups.google.com/groups?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&q=sony+trinitron+ghosting
My solution is buy a BNC cable, turn your monitor around, if you see 5 holes that said H(horizontal scan), V(verticle scan), R, G, B.....that means your monitor can use the 5 hole BNC cable. Buy it! This helped fixin the problem because each progress of the monitor have their own seperate cable.
You're almost done, the next step is simple: pull your pant down, turn around and bend over, there's a tight hole that i wanna plug my self. _________________ Join Roundeye SECRET art forum shhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! |

Flush.. I've had that exact problem on my 21" Sony GDM F500. Bought a BNC cable and the problem was fixed. Period! Get a good cable though and not an el cheapo. _________________ Trust in Trance |
