don't think i'll finish it anytime soon, though... will be kinda busy for the next couple of months

This also looks pretty much like it could be finished to me. I'm not sure where else you would be taking it, because the color theme of cool-to-hot you have going seems like a natural choice for this. I suppose you could articulate and detail the light logic more.

As a work of art I'm not totally excited by it, but I think it clearly shows that you can do good work.
