Does anyone have suggestions on a good layout technique for manga/comic pages? I want to make my own lil one page comic. When i say one page i mean like "frogchildren". I have studied many tutorials but i wanna know if im missing anything.

-THANKS! Very Happy

i found it good reference for my own experiments to
a) read manga with special focus on what the layout does to the story
b) read scott mc cloud's books (understanding comics & reinventing comics)
c) read wil eisner's book (comics and sequential art - this one purely O.W.N.Z.)
d) watched good movies.

why movies?
manga page layout is like a well cut movie. short glimpses of something inbetween two large panels, movement like in a camera flick can be conveyed with some panel shapes.

i guees it's b) and c) for the theoretical part and lots of a) in conjunction with d) (like: always imagine what that scene would look like in panels instead of cuts) to get a feel for the subject matter.

There's a series of books that specifically deals with drawing manga.

Here's a link to their site:

Oh, and you should read those books recommended by gekitsu. Great stuff!
