Greetings all,
I've been using Deep Paint 3D for painting 3d models and I'm not too pleased with it. Mainly the painting features. I was wondering what are some other good 3D paint programs are there? Is there a stanard paint program used in the movie / gaming industry? (like maya and max are to 3D modeling).
Thanks,
- Shawn

In the game/movie industry, they don't really use 3d paint tools like deep paint. Using standard uv maps is the best as it gives the model a way better and realistic look. Personally, I hate using 3d paint tools. I like standard maps is the best way so all I do is take the uv map from max or maya and paint in photoshop7. |

tayete: Zbrush is nice but not a texture programm. It's a combo of paint and model kinda...freaking programm, hard to handle.
HellSpawn: I also know Bodypaint. But Deep Paint 3D with texture weapans is exzellent.
ThePuppetMaster: sure they do. They use a combination of 3d painting tools and ps - and switch around every ten seconds. |

No Max, Zbrush is everything you've said, plus a fantastic organic 3D modeller (much the way Amorphium works), and a great texturer via a free Zscript that lets you import your models and texture them.
Let's say Zbrush is a wide mix of Painter, Amorphium, Organica, and 3D Deep Paint. The only "but" I have about it is that it is quite complex to learn quickly, and the interface doesn't help neither.
Take a look at the galleries around of Zbrush, and you'll see some great texturing works created with it to 3D models. _________________ _ _ _____ _ _
