okay, this is basically just a quick study in light and color, but ive decided to flesh it out to a finished piece. However, i have a tendency of NEVER finishing anything i start... hopefully through this thread, ill be forced to keep updating it until im done.
Perspectives are obviously distorted, originally it was on purpose, but now its all getting jumbled... neither of the main two towers have the same perspective. but i dont care, its not about perspective on this piece.
ill post what i have now, and then the second image has a quick paint over for what i hope the finish piece to look like.
ohh and im really a n00b, so be gentle[/img] |

It doesn't look like a very solid start IMO. Perhaps if you laid the whole scene down roughly at first and went into the details later you'd end up finishing a lot more of your pictures. This city looks like it's on top of a sphere that isn't larger than a regular city block in surface area. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

yup, it is supposed to be spherical. im often very influenced by distorted perspectives.. however, my problem lies in consistency of the same distortion throughout. So naturally, its actually a traditional flat earth approximation, but i like the distortion. Either way, perspective is trivial in this piece |

I think it will turn out ok, but the black background is what I think kills it in a way, it takes away from the overall picture. Maybe add stars or something in that blank black space and then with them there you can add a reflectoion on some of the medal on the ground. This I think will add to your lighting idea,
o, I think you should have sort of a STRONG lighting point somewhere to overpower the rest in a way, right not it kind of looks damp and very dark
Hope this help's a bit |
