I don't know if this falls into the category but I didn't have the time to really reply to the actual link . So I'll reply to the subject.
I used to work at a web design/hosting/isp firm and one day out of the blue this man named Paul calls. He can't connect to the internet, a usual problem you get... I ask which OS etc... etc... get the normal answer, some copy of windows etc... etc... I give him the usual path of getting to the control panel start/settings/control panel or whatever, not really looking for exact paths right now to tell the truth.
All of a sudden, I get a strange question... Wheres the start button? I tell him to look at the bottom left, he sees none... odd... I tell him to move the mouse to the very bottom of the screen in case it's hidden, nothing happens... Tell him to move the mouse to the extreme edge of every screen, nothing happens... I tell him to start a new task of explorer.exe in case it was shut down... nothing happens... It was just odd, unless this guy was using a Mac and told me it was windows in order to give me a headache, or his computer was off and he was fucking with me I'll assume I was dealing with a moron that was quite possibly illiterate and wasting my GOD DAMN time...
So I gave it off to a higher up to deal with (I'm awful cool like that *grins*) and of course we find out it wasn't hidden... the person just seemed to go blind at anything past his wallpaper... his response was something akin to OH! That thing! I swear it's the closest I've ever gotten to wanting to horribly mame someone in a long, looong time. |

Most everyone has probably heard this one, but perhaps a few have not. It's my favorite. Back in the 80's when CD-ROM drives were just beginning to show up on desk top computers, someone called a tech support line for the computer just purchased and complained that the cup holder was broken. It wouldn't hold a cup properly... Of course the caller was thinking that the CD-ROM sliding door was a cup holder... love it! _________________ HonePie.com

I dunno bang... Its possible.. remember that snakes can expand and shrink the diameter of their bodies and curve in many different ways.. so its possible..

well, the rib cage of a snake is really flexible, everyone who's had a pet snake knows how little room it takes for a snake to escape from its tank.
and a runaway snake can be found almost anywhere, this can easily include a still warm computer box, a nice dark place to go hiding.
ever seen a kitten squeeze through under a door? _________________ Gecko

Many can climb up trees. I guess the computer isn't any harder for them. And maybe when they shipped the case to the tech service it wasn't upwards. _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

the surface of the trees is easy for a snake to "grip" on. But i find it hard to believe it could get in somewhere like that. The surface is 90 degree and no where to grip.

"The phone rings: tech support: "hello computer tech support " customer: "hello my computer was making a strange hissing noise last night and this morning when I turned it on there was a crackling noise and some smoke then nothing, if I bring it in can you fix it?" Take a look at the pictures.....you won't believe it!!!! "
He never shipped it any where! The only possible reason i could think of is that i climb from a box beside this computar or something.

Well, the mainboard and the different PCI devices could be a good support for climbing. And probably the snake took its time to get there... dunno.
And yes, the shipping idea was wrong, my bad. _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

but the PC was CLOSED judging from the picture, thats why i'm confused about how it got there. _________________ Join Roundeye SECRET art forum shhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! |

well, look at his head sticking out the fan gaurd.. would it not be safe to assume that he got in when the computer was off the same way he was trying to get out when it got turned on? maybe. |
