Ok, I'm stressing out.. Thought I'd blow off a little steam. I am currently working 40+ hours a week and going to school full time to get my Computer Animation degree.
I have 1.5 weeks of school left for the Christmas break and my 10 second full color animation is due next Monday. Still finishing up the last scene, then I need to scan in the remaining scene, bring all the images into traceman and clean them up, and color them in Paintman and composite it all in CoreRetas! All this week!
The animation industry really stinks right now like most of the job market and I'm killing myself to get good grades and still work full time. Luckily, I have a decent job that pays well to allow me to continue going to school. So, I just wanted to let off some steam and hope that job market will pick up by the time I get my degree so I can do something with my interest in Art.
Anyhow.. I'll post my roughs while I'm doing them this week in the in progress section, or the finished section since I should be done in the next couple of days completely..
Is it all worth it?
Really? I know school isn't nessecarily what your given, but what you do with the knowledge you can accumulate around you.
Just seems alot of the schools are more interested in making sure your loans get approved then they are about teaching and securing your future.. Which I guess is true, since all schools are truly businesses. |

you are exactly right dekard. i'm about to graduate in a few days, and i need to get letters of reccomendation to apply to grad school. so i put in a request for an unofficial transcript that i can give to profressors to write the letters. turns out they won't give me the transcript until my final payment is in. I'm here thinking to myself, what the hell, i've paid so much damn money over 4 years at this school and they can't even give me a damn unofficial transcript. so i've been set back and am now strugglin to finish all my stuff here.
by the way, what school are you at right now? |
