I'm sure they're fine, but I'd be interested to find out what the warranties are for refurbished monitors.

i like the look of the Compaq 21's..

but my next monitors are going to b dual Viewsonic 19" P90f's (1940x1440@73Hz) (they're only .24 pitch, nothing on my .21 Hitachi, but the extra res more than makes up for it Smile)

These are all brand new and covered under warranty; if it were me I would pay the extra coin - it's not that much more - for the comfort of a warranty.
Very Happy

Viewsonic is my personal preference:

Some good buys here too:

If anyone's looking at purchasing a new monitor I have to say that after working on an Apple LCD for a year or so, they're actually not all that bad - once properly calibrated they are about as close as CRTs to final output (which is a fair distance off the mark anyway) and the viewing angles of the new Apple LCDs are much better and no longer limiting (unlike the LCD screens Apple still fit their laptops with. The advantages of the LCDs are:
1) Sharper images
2) They take up MUCH less deskspace
3) They look professional and cool when clients call in.
4) Thay have a power button

number 4 may not seem like a big deal, but if you are running a Powerbook as your main machine (as I am) it allows you to power up the laptop with the lid closed and just run off the external screen, which saves running dual-screen and having to divide Wacom area.

Also, FYI, I don't know where else this applies, but in Australia Apple are having a promotion where if you buy a new high end machine or Powerbook and an LCD screen before the end of the year there is a $400-$800 cashback offer, depending on what machine you get.

yeah, the cinema displays are insane. I have a couple of friends that have the 22" version, the image detail and color are incredible; but i know I can't afford one. When this 6 year old viewsonic dies, I'll replace it with a bigger viewsonic. I've been really happy with it.[/u]

I'm going to buy a Sony SDM-x82 TFT 18". It looks like a good buy, I'll tell you when I have it.
Also, there are some good reviews of TFT monitors in GamePc.
