I just bought the Macromedia MX software bundle for a gggrrrreeeat price! (Tony the Tiger, step the fuck back)

Get this.... $99.00! For those who aren't familiar with the package, it comes with: Dreamweaver MX, Fireworks MX, Flash MX, ColdFusion Studio MX, and Freehand 10 (and a bonus of Homesite 5). Can ya say, "WOO HOO". And the best thing is, not only are they professional versions, they are totally legit! It was totally an offer I couldn't refuse.

Not that anyone really cares. I just wondered if there were any other great deals going on? (Or any good graphics programs that I could review...Besides Painter, which is next on my list)

Question

Wink

I got them through Purdue University... I know you can get them through Indiana University as well. I'm sure other colleges have this deal (or could inquire about this deal). Maybe I'll start hording a lot of copies.... heheh Cool

It's a damn good price *sigh*

Any more software companies throwing cheap pricetags on their pro software?? Answer back.

If you got it through a university, it's probably an educational version, not a commercial one.

You aren't allowed to use an educational version to make money. Sometimes student versions also have a time-limited license, like you can only use them for a year or two before it forces you to upgrade to the commercial product.

But then again, some companies offer discounted software to students with no restrictions. Hash's A:M costs $100 less if you're a student, but doesn't have any special usage conditions attached.

Yeh, when I first heard the deal I thought the some thing... educational software. But reguardless I checked up on it. Thanks to my curiosity I found that it IS the professional versions of the programs. I was amazed, but moreso extremely happy. So I jumped on it and hopefully soon I'll have a few more copies to hand out to friends for xmas or whatever.

*sigh*

The reason I ligitly bought the software: Because its legal! Selling my work is not against the law. I can do anything I want to with my copyrighted material w/o having to watch my ass at all. Not only that, but I've done my part in making sure that Macromedia stays in business; thus, ensuring that more software and updates hit the market.

Also, with Kazaa, don't be totally sure you're getting just the program. I know several people who test out their "programming" skills by embedding things into different progs. Though, these progs are not necessarily malicious, I'm sure there are people out there who really dont care who they mess with. And with services like Kazaa, malicious progs are spread quicker than an STD's in a brothel.

So just be careful... and wrap it up before it jacks you up (or something like that) Wink

i expect that they have a clause in it saying that you souldn't use it for anything ilegal, like sharing of Apps, music etc...

kazaa as far as i can see is a P-P app, so nothing actually passes through their server..

hehe Bang Smile

Kazaa is p2p... which means that there are potential security risks lurking everywhere (like any other p2p service/software).

and to Themagicpen: Though, it was a hell of a lot easier to go to the bookstore and nab the copy, it took a little searching to find the online info about the software. But here it is:

THE site

I think that next semester it will still be the same.... i hope Wink

I think the price is real cool... but i always download all my software form kazaa, it is really simple and here in holland the police wont come to my house to see what i have on my pc.

Unless somebody say it to the police, the police will never find out i have all those illegal stuff (illegal versions of flash, dreamweaver, photshop) on my pc! Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil

It sounds like the guy off of Reading Rainbow (an old television show I watched when I was a kid).

"This book was great! But you don't have to take my word for it."

It sounds like you know too much about Kazaa for never using it. heheh, but if its what you want to do then do it.

P.S. There ARE international copyright laws that apply to almost all types of software. Business is driven by the almighty $$, whether its from people buying a product or from illegal-software lawsuits.
