Good!
I'm not sure Painter is much better for that sort of rendering, semirealistic airbrush style.. you have a somewhat more advanced airbrush in Painter, but I would say 'photo' style is just the kind of job Photoshop will work well. You dont expect to see a lot of grain or texture in the airbursh style paintings, unless you zoom in and work details to death
If you want a more graphic style then there are plenty of fun tools in Painter. If cash is an issue imho you can take that style quite further without the need of Painter, if you want to test something a little graphic, you should have Painter Classic shipped with the wacom box, it's got plenty of fun stuff. _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

very purdy!
I would choose painter if I could, some nice brush simulations in there, but Fast+good UI=photoshop |

my viewpoint as a wacom newbie is that opencanvas is the best solution when purchasing a painting prog, its light, simple, layer system is just like in PS, and it has a ton of functions compared to the price of it. (50 dollars)
there are still some cons, but the only one that i really care is the lack of "grainy" brushes like the ones in painter. download the trial version, it works for 30 days, from http://www.portalgraphics.net, i recommend to give it at least a try. |
