Ok, this is really messy, i know. But i can explain! Smile I cant paint until saturday and I havnt come so far with the drawing but i still wanted to show you what I intend to do with it, so i havnt been laying down so much time on certain parts. Shield, background and the hand are particularly doodely.
Rolling Eyes
Im going to define the lightsource abit better, and maybe add another one aswell.

Enough with the bs, here's the pic:

I think this is going along great. Maybe you could add hair just the same way as with the moustache?
keep it up Smile

Hmm the sword going behind rock really throughs off the perspective in the
picture. Recommend bring the sword in front of the rock so as make him
look more life size.
Also for the hands just use narrow but dark lines to define the structure of
the hands. In between fingers and around the area of the hand and the
sword should be more than enough definition to give the hands form.
Fingernails most people always seem to forget about fingernails.! Rolling Eyes

Lol! Yes it looks really stupid if you see it that way:) But as I said its just a doodle and its showing where the sword is supposed to be, he would be abit to big if the sword was supposed to be behind the montain, look at the update. Wink
And for the hand, Im working on it, but Im not so happy with the anatomy of it... I can't get it in the correct angle + it looks really wierd, anatomy wise

Matthew: Good point..I'm going to try different hairstyles aswell.

I don't think that anatomy is such a big problem in your case.

Try to finish it and go on further. You'll see it's becoming better and better.

And of course as Craig told : Live drawing is really important !

So long

Hi Kinten,

It's a nice composition.

But the head isn't right, the eyes should be in the center of the face, it seems to be placed higher. And the ear should be a bit higher I think.

The lower half of the head is good, but the upper half seems a bit flat if you put your hand over the lower half.

The rest is fine, I hope this was a useful advise.

the hand needs to be wrapped fully around the handle - the fingers should be under the thumb and the ball of the hand like in a fist.

here's a tip for difficult hands: take picture of your own with a digicam. now all you need to do is find a sword Very Happy

Havnt been here for a while, sorry for not answering!

Great crits. About the head, Ive been wondering what's wrong with it, cause it doesnt look right, but I see now thanks to you Elco, I'll see what I can do.
I might even redraw the head...

At the moment I'm trying to redirect the light (I havnt been working on it for a while tho) and it's taking alot of time.

Geztar, I'm trying to. Some hand-drawing practice would be handy (aha Smile )
