if you could start all over with art, what would you learn first?
i have never taken an art before...exept 1 class in high school (dont think it counts, since the teacher sat at the computer all the time..)
now in college, i would like to get a good start...but im not so sure which class to begin with in order to have a good foundation and such. Im thinking about taking a perspective class, i do have a little trouble with 3d on a 2d plane..but i want to hear what you guys think. |

A good foundation is smart, but I think the question I wish somone had asked me before I went to artschool is: What kind of art do you want to do?
If you can answer that question the other one's seem to answer themselves. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

really havent thought about that either.
overall id say im a well-rounded person, not really great at one thing..also not many things im not familiar with. im leaning more towards digital media, but its always good to know traditional too...all this school/deciding stuff is tough. |

Yeah, I know what you mean, I felt the same way. I just know, looking back,
that if I'd had a clearer idea of what kind of art I really wanted to do, I could have made better use of my time at school and been a better illustrator when I got out. I know it feels like a ton of choices right now, but just keep that in mind as you look at the artwork that inspires you. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. an hello to all, i`m new here and as you can see its my frist post
(sry for my bad english)
i also want to start with (digital)drawing. i just drawed a few pics at school and some others at home. all with pencil of course..its my favorite drawingtool. but i want more, modify them with photoshop or so, but i dont know how exactly. i read the tutorial by dhabih on the frontpage, but i dont want to draw with photoshop, because its to difficult with a mouse. so i`ll try to get a scanner of my friend he dont use. dont know if i get it, but what can i do then? dont think i can use a digicam, because the quality isn`t as good as like a scanner ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) _________________ Last words of Mr.Riker "Worf, fire at Will!" |
