Can't believe no one has replied.. The goblin is awesome! The knight, unposed, looks a bit top heavy, but is still quite nice, and the mounted night is amazing.
GREAT!! |

Yup, they are that good. I particularly like the coloring you did on the goblin, the values blend together very fluidly. |

The artists at IdolEyes use an assortment of different media. These designs by Adam Frizzell were illustrated with ol' fashioned pencil, scanned and painted by Micheal Birkhofer in Photoshop.
Visit the site, we have plenty more amazing art, and some cool projects that are starting soon.
sds8373: Thanks for the first reply. You jumped on that pretty quickly. Don't forget to check out the contest in a few weeks.
Simoom: If you like that style...look out for work by Michael Birkhofer. He goes by the name Seraphire. He's fantastic!

pshhhh, as we say in israel. very nice.
even though the horse suffers fromsome anatomy errors (legs, lip, nostrils...) it's still great. i adore the coloring! it makes the pictures. i would love to see the black and white pencils in higher rez. _________________ ToPeirA |

Nice! Cool Goblin, definetely a favourite out of these. keep up these ideas, they are going in an original and interesting direction. The Goblin is certainly different to the 'normal' we usually see. It's great!
If I had one crit, it ocured to me when I was looking at some of the different surfaces on the knight. I was trying to figure out whether you wanted the armour to look metal. You may want it to be painted, or diffuse and old and weathered. Chances are though that it is meant to look more metallic. Is that how you inteded it?
Anyway to my point. What occured to me was that this is concept art, and apart from the character designs and clothing etc... the purpose of a concept is to 'sell' the idea. So you need to work some more time into defining the materials and textures. We need to be abe to see what is organic, what is metallic? skin? etc... atm a lot of your surfaces have a very similar texture and rendering style. I would suggest you push the level of the materials and textures to further strengthen your already strong concepts.
Hope that helps. |

Ian Jones: That suggestion is great. We are a gaming studio and we work very hard on our concepts and Ideas. with any anatomical errors that actually pass the floor, We make sure that the art is well enough to understand, and that the 3D modellors that will eventually begin work on these in the future have a good understanding of what they are to do.
Your suggestion on the texturing also makes great sense. It will be very difficult to sell a character if you can' understand what he is wearing.
Topeira: I would love to post the Pencil work:
Matt: I don't know much about whats that called, But it is the things that block there peripheral vision so that they are not distracted.
