Some might recall the b/w version, here it is in golden colours. It really looks sad this small, it's really 4 times larger. Maybe I can post some details, I found some areas especially interesting. Critique on colouring very much appreciated!
Oh, and I've spent a lot of time trying to develop a good "B/W -> Colour" digital painting method that suits me without losing details from original sketch. Anyways, here is:

Man Torstein thats Crazy! I saw the B&W version, it's amazing how you color this without losing any of the underpainting. I hope you're working on a tutorial to share your secrets here soon. I'll definitely be watching and waiting. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

Hey man, you've really done wonders with this one! I like the rightmost portrait the best, it has a lot of intensity and focus. One little remark though (take it or leave it):
I think you should take a look at the area to left of the skeleton. You've got large generous shapes and distinct lighting overall, but in that area it seems like you're not quite sure what to do with it. Maybe simplify it, make a decision on colour and value. Right now I think it "chit-chatting" (yeah, that IS actually a good expression in swedish, I'm not sure if it translates so well...)
All in all, great job Torstein! =)
Cheers,

Very well done!!!
I would like to see your technique: How to add color afterward like you did in this image? Did you use "colormode" for the bruch or the layer? |

Inspec: No secrets here Just experimentation, studying, practicing, pondering. Each finds his way, I guess. In this there is a tad Brom, a tad Rembrandt, a tad Zorn, a tad of Manley and a tad of Sijun. And that's just what I recognize right now.
Mon: You mean the area above the Ghost's head is a bit busy? I hope it somehow adds atmosphere anyway, though. Thanks for the observation!
Max: No specific technique, really. One Colour layer, then a copy of that with Multiply, then some misc tweaking (H/S, Levels, Variations, etc), then new painted layer with Colour mode, more tweaking, overpainting, etc, etc. This was a long process, but I think I found some Keys for future use.
Thanks all for the comments! I'd show some in-betweens to demonstrate, but it would make no sense at all _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |

Tetra: Thanks, I mostly used a program called Painter for the b/w sketch, and Photoshop for the colours.
Max: No problem. Let me know when it's finished _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |
