picture which took way way longer than it should have. Anyway, was for an 11x17 print. This is about, 15% zoom or something around there. Worked CMYK from start. The grey/green crate she's leaning on I realized should have been more gradiated in the tone after a few days staring at one of the prints.
Anyway, on to the art, C&C please.

The figure looks pretty good. As for the environment: watch your perspective! The top of the box her foot is on, the top of the box she's sitting on, and the floor in the background are presumably all level horizontal surfaces (in other words parallel). This means they should be receding to a vanishing point on the same horizon line. The box her foot's on and the floor in the background recede to high vanishing points(probably somewhere out of the drawing). The box she's sitting on recedes to a vanishing point somewhere around her naval. This kind of error just looks odd, like something's not quite right. (even to viewers who don't understand perspective). Sorry for the long winded perspective lesson. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

Another thing is that cylindrical object (some kind of grenade launch clip?) inside the box should be shown as a perfectly horizontal elipse.
You're ability to put down clear lines is quite good. Now it's time to learn more advanced theory, such as linear perspective and the like. It's these details that really ground an image, making it seem much more real and three dimensional. |

Ah that would explain why the clip looks messed up (good call on the subject of that one btw ^-^) I recalled seeing somewhere (want to say in perspective for the comic artist) about using a square along the line of perspective to work out a cirlce in perspective, did that, forgot it would remain horizintonal (cept maybe in 3 point perspective IIRC?).
Yeah, the perspective is off. I pulled, more or less, a double all nighter finishing this, and was sketching in Background details at about, hour 38. So minor details like "using one vanishing point, or at least 2 reasonably close to each other" probably slipped away in the mental fight of "STOP FSCKING ADDING DETAILS TO THE BACKGROUND TO COLOR LATER YOU MASOCHISTIC HAND OF SATAN!"
Yes, all of the mecha components are designed to have a cute/femine style to them _________________ �����������������������������

The vanishing points don't have to be the same point, or even close to each other as long as they are on the same horizon line. I've drawn a quick sketch to explain. In the image on top the viewer is looking at the scene with their eyes about a foot above the model's head. The viewer's eye is the horizon line. So as you can see, objects vanish to three different points but they are all on the same horizon line. In the lower image the viewer's eye level is at the model's waist so again that is where the horizon line is (and all the vanishing points). So when you create a scene with two horizon lines, it's as though the viewer was looking at the scene from two points at the same time (not possible in a single image).
