I can�t understand this Counter Strike thing, I think Half - Life was better without the CS Mod.

I didn't understand your picture without your explanation. Try perhaps drawing from a child's perspective as he is reaching into his backpack to grab a gun and everyone in his classroom is rendered as those from the game. That way your arugment of video games distorting ones minds and leading them to violence would be better shown.
oh, and I do not agree with you. The real issue behind why our youth are so hostile most deffinitly goes to a deeper source than video games.

Timon Q3 died 2 months after it came out, everyone went back to Q2... the only reason ID made the game was to promote the engine..

Frankly, if you want to stop the violence, start with the parents. I visit a local cybercafe/game lan where I see some mothers basically drop off their kids for the day using the place like a daycare, all that they can play there is CS since the other kids there teach them to play it.

Bob , did u ever seen the world cyber games ??? U say quake 3 died after 2 Months ??? u failed much. quake is now still the most played game in the world cyber games. And the Players dont think about stop playing this game.

i know quite a few X Q3 players, a few who were in the top 10 in the country (UK) and if they say Q3 died after 2 months i believe them...

CS is still maybe the most user friendly game there is, lots of servers, good ping and faster pace than most of the q3 mods. im not saying that q3 mods suck, but i prefer the normal "blow-yer-head-off" quake when i dont want to think anything. still, im not playing actively neither one of these games, mainly because there is countless number of those 12 year old idjits, and the number is rising. both playable in lan games, or if you can handle brainless massteenagers in a continuous flow

counter-strike is ok, but having to listen to the high pitched squeals of 12 year olds can get irritating. Anyways Natural Selection is much more entertaining. And altogether there are better games out there that arn't half-life mod related.

I think it's human nature to be violent. Humans have been here for thousands of years and even with evolution and all we still fight each other over trivial things. Ultimately, we're all going to die at some point and maybe then cockroaches will take over. They don't seem to be warring with each other.

Imagine that though.. CNN reporting a cockroach war.

Anyway, good idea for your drawing. It's simple, but still the message isn't passed easily. Looking at it, I get the idea that bloods coming out of the computer. Upon further thought, I could correlate the video game and the blood to conclude that virtual violence leads to real blood. However, the connection between video game and children playing video games with violent content is lost. That's just my opinion. If a child was added to this image, the connection would be clearer.

Good work with it, but if you got time try and work a bit more with it.

Let's face the facts, kids, especially 'cos some of you guys are actually workin' in da biz:

COUNTER-STRIKE is the most successfull 3D-Shooter game ever, maybe with the exception of DOOM but that game has an extra-status since it's like the godfather of all 3D carnage. There's no other 3D-Shooter out there with such an amount of players online playing their game on a regular basis like CS. The last time I saw a statistic about game servers online there were more CS servers running like Q3 and UT together. Today, a LAN party without Counter-Strike would be like a christmas party without weed and crack. UNIMAGINABLE.

It's not a matter of age, CS is high in the favor of almost everybody doing online games around the world. OK, maybe in Korea folks prefer tactic games like Star Craft, but even there's a lot of CS gaming going on.

And all that despite of the fact the HL engine is fucking out of date.

Well, OK, I know what you're gonna say and I have to agree, mass appeal says basically shit about the quality of a product, that goes for games, music and other stuff... All I'm saying is gooseman and his crew did a fucking good job of creating the most popular 3D-Shooter in the history of 3D-Games and the tide is still pretty high for that game, earning Valve still a lot of money - soon to be more with further expansion sets and stuff, aka "Condition Zero". Counter-Strike doesn't suck, dude, the only thing that sucks is that it wasn't you who did that killer thing.

The whole violence discussion related to 3D-shooters is ri-fucking-dicilous, btw. If parents ain't able to take care of their kids, don't blame it on the media when they're becoming fucking retards. Always differ between the cause and the symptoms of an illness. 'nuff said.

I don't think games can change humans or something.
You won't kill someone because you played CS.

But I think it's a bad idea to play against someone in the net.
The RPG are much better because you play with people together to win against the computer. TOGETHER

Not running around and shooting and shooting without comunicate and some nice words to your friend.
You can also play against bots if you just SHOOT around...

Yes, CS is the most successfull 3D-Shooter game ever. But it isn't the best.
There are games which are million� times better. ( sorry flat )

CS is successful becuase of the 'team' work needed to complete a round, sure there are those who will camp and let the team down on a bomb map on a public, but clan matches are much more organinsed
