Sat down and did this after dinner this evening. Took me a couple of hours and I could use some advice on the colors... I'm quite unsure about the sky, I keep thinking (and switching) all red sky with purple shades at the top but...I really can't decide. Maybe it's fine the way it is? As I was thinking just now I though about maybe an apcoalypse theme? Throw some meteors into the sky and a red environment? Anyway, I was going for a photorealistic look but the explosion didn't quite turn out all super. :/ No photoreference used. Everything is made from scratch in photoshop.

I like it a lot. The only thing that bugs me a little, are the clouds. I know that they're supposed to be at that angle, but they almost look as if they're being "blown" by the explosion.

it looks like sperm cells around an ovum egg---i like the way the explosion looks though--again the clouds don't look very appealing to me---you should put some buildings or something around it being blown to pieces or something---cuz the setting looks a little boring--nothing around--

See what you mean about the clouds, I guess i got a little lazy and used a filter should be able to fix that. I'll see if I get enough bored to add any buildings or anything, might happen but I think I will redo the explosion before that. Thanks for the replies.
