Some of you might remember this from the WIP section some time ago. Primary goals were: clear spacial distinction, moving the eye around, circular composition. Any thoughts from you ladies and gentlemen?

Nice painting, I especially like the dying guy, looks great.
One crit that distracts me quite alot is the knights arm and especially his hand, looks too small and a bit strange. |

Really nice piece, especially the Knight.
hmm... one thing...maybe this will help...maybe not??
The Cloth on the Skeleton looks kind of weird, would be nice with more smudging or something on the Cloth.
Very nice piece.
take it easy

The magician on the right looks amazing.
The left hand of the night not really.
gLitterbug mentioned the problem already.
Anyway, the magiian is AWESOME !!!!! |

What IS wrong with that hand? I'll try resizing it, though I don't see the fault clearly. He is supposed to be awkward-looking, but not a freak
The skeleton is supposed to have it's own subtle glow, hence the whiteness. Could have exaggerated more, I guess.
The strokes in the cloth is one of my favourite parts I think it adds energy, but I'll reconsider.
The Magick is in the center of the piece, and I felt I had to tone it down or else it would grab too much attention.
Thanks all for comments! I'm glad you seem to like it, I'm so fed up with it at the moment... Would this be good enough for a publication, you think? _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |

Most definitely. I think the piece rocks, eventhough I had a Crit about the cloth....hehe Maybe I am into this smudging tecnique a bit too much.
keep up the good work
take it easy

I always gotta check out your work..... Maybe the knight's hand could be adjusted by beding his last thumb segment outwards instead of in towards the palm. BTW your SPs totally rock |

Somehow, the smudge hysteria eluded me. I never use it, mainly because it never occured to me as that useful. I usually just paint over things instead. There's no particular attraction for me in a perfect gradient anyway. Thank you BlankFrank, I'm looking into the thumb business
Wuu-hu! It got an Editor's Choice at Epilogue! _________________ www.torsteinnordstrand.com |
