There must be some linux Gurus here, they have Gnome 2 binaries for just about every popular distro exept for Red Hat! Has anyone else installed it on their Red Hat somehow?
I hate building. |

Coaster: Binaries? As in RPMs? I thought they were the original distribution format on Red Hat.
Anyway, is it too much hassle to try and compile the source tarballs? (okay, the answer to this question is usually YES).
Ah well, Google Groups is possibly a good place to start.

Yeah, thanks I was just asking you guys 'cause your the types that would probably know. Don't worry, I did (and still am) asking elseware. There are no RPMs for RedHat, only sources.
Aber, I am truly sorry about this post not applying directly to you, and in the future I will only post things that you agree with.
On that note lets change this thread to "Wow, Aber is really good, so lets worship him because thats what this forum is for" so that he doesn't loose interest and stop contributing here (what a disaster that would be!) |

Go for it, Mandrake is great for the beginer and all the distros come with easy duel boot makers (although I havn't used one before). |

Im very tempted to install Mandrake... Ive never used Linux before but Im very intrigued... whats your opinions on it?
Im thinking of running dual boot Win98se and Mandrake.
(yes I still use Win98se, no other win environment is as good.. and thats not saying much for 98se either.) |
