Andromeda,
There are several catches to boomspeed.
I don't think boomspeed has a bandwidth limit. Although, they do have a disclaimer which states that if a free account is using an "unreasonable" amount of resources they will shut it down. Also, the site is primarily intended for the hosting of auction images. So if they see you're posting personal artwork on their servers, they might delete your account. Also, you're not allowed to host a web page on the free account, only images.
I found the servers to be quick, when they are running properly. Boomspeed claims their servers are up 99% of the time. I would dispute that claim. I used boomspeed several times to host images on this board and it worked out ok. Although, I did get red x's on a few occasions.

Wrong forum. This should be moved to Discussion.
You could try www.boomspeed.com; they allow remote linking and it's easy to set up a free account. However, their server reliability is average at best. Not many hosts allow remote linking for free anymore, so your best bet is to pay for some web space.

El scoonoo ...
whats the catch for Boomspeed ?
You said their server reliability is 'average' at best. meaning what ?
they always go down ? theyre slow ?
im also looking for a place to hold my pics.
Im using NETFIRMS. they give you 25megs free web space and allow remote linking, the catch is that they have a quota of
100mb viewing per day.
if u exceed that, they'll shut down yur account for the day and re-open it the next day.
it gets irritating when people say "ALL I CAN SEE IS A RED X"
then you have to explain to them the quota thing and tell them to check again the next day. usually they wont return. |
