This is as good as the character portraits on the BIOWARE games.. such as Baldur's Gate and Ice Wind Dale.

Very cool!

I like it a lot Cos. Heck, I like all of your stuff. One thing, however, that bothers me a little is the lack of any implicit storyline or plot. Even a simple storytelling element would really make a difference. But if you're just focusing on the character and the character alone, i can understand that too...

Nice work Cos! Just needs a bit of variance in the tones, but, real nice. Loving your work lately -- great stuff! Oh, and, will you have my babies? 'Cause incest and child-sex is illegal here. =] (whatever=) Keep the dark a flowin'.

OOhh...this is a different thread! no-wonder it felt like i was having some total deja-vu thing going on when typing out my comment for the second time...

dontfallin, there doesn't have to be a story behind all pics...when illustrating a concept of a character, item, vehicle etc. no-one would even expect one. But if the illustration is depicting a scene or event, some sort of story is definatley needed to give reason to the actions portrayed. I'm not sure if Cos wanted a storyline in his picture, since he might just be making a character design and therefore focusing on the character itself rather than what it is doing or thinking. I would very much like to see something which has some sort of plot to it, because i think it adds a little more depth to the image. And with Cos' excellent illustrative skills, i imagine it would be a great combination.

I don't understand why you found it appropriate to call me a "loser" but if it's something that you feel that i've deserved, feel free to send me a private message.

Great work, as usual. I really like the near monochrome feeling you've got going...plus the red light coming in...really works well...he is a gruesome, chap. Great work

no, im sorry. you dont. if 3 guys are sitting near a fire, for example, thats just what theyre doing. if you need explaination on that, you ARE an idiot.

no, seriously, what the hell is the matter with you? i was being sarcastic, my god! get a brain! this is what i said:

Sarcasm and irony don't suit the written medium very well... I've had bad experiences with them, 'cause I use irony quite a lot in daily language. You could try adding " "s to your message, though. Might help some.

C&C, I particulary like the convincing details, like the belt and armband, the anatomy is working, and his left arm has a nice texture too it. Maybe his left hand needs a bit of remodelling. No "digs" today. Enjoying the colour scheme as well, daring with all that pinkish stuff, but it works very well.

Great job, as always

Snorkles, Max, Malachi, Gigatron - Thanks guys!

666Flat - All Hail da main man Flat(tatattatdatass!), Cheers dude!

Robcamp - Thanks! excellent compliment, I love that stuff.

Nova - Hey again. I understand in a way what you say, tho I'm not sure how appropriate it is here, as I have already stated this was a character portrait. Take a look at the IWD2 portraits (for example) to see more what these style character portraits are like, then it may make it easier for you to understand.

I would like to work much more on scene and story telling work, It's true I have been very focused with character work lately. I hope I do manage to get my characters personality across through expression, pose and mood, etc.. and they do look like they have purpose and something on their mind as u mentioned as that's always what I aim for.

Soilwork, cptoonz - Thanks!

Frost - achh! dude, your sense of humour gets sicker and sicker as time goes by... Glad you liked it, Thanks. Ueah, agree more colour variation in the tones would have been much nicer, I tend to neglect putting them in my base sometimes, need to get more experimental with my palette from early on I'm sure.

Torstein - Thanks, glad you liked it. Yeah, agree with you about the hand, was not happy with it (and some other areas). Should have probably looked at my own to fix it, tho just kinda had enough of working on it to be honest.
