Ok so we've finally done it. We haven't seen my wifes family in two years.
They moved from Long Beach CA to Kilgore TX. And well we weren't too hot on going there.

But now we kind of felt obliged to. So we've booked the tickets.
I am not sure what to do with my time while I am there.
I don't drive, I am a vegetarian and it will be hot...very hot.
This kind of rules out most of what I could do.
I am hoping there will be some interesting photography material. And otherwise I think I will be spending my days eating donuts and drinking rootbeer. (Both of which I look forward to)

So people..any tips?
Is Dallas worth the 3 hours of travel? The art museum there didn't look all that interesting. What about the whole art district?

I hear they have a nice Shakespeare festival. Bring your computer and paint.

If you are vegan then you will find some good restaurants in Dallas, the art district there is also pretty good (Ft.Worths is better) do visit the DMA (Dallas museum of art) Deep Ellum will provide you with great photo ops as well as places to go out at night.
It won't really get hot untill august so you should be fine. You can also drive 20min west and be in arlington, Six Flags and what used to be
named wet and wild are there too. Enjoy, but get out of Kilgore..LOL!!!

Heho.. thanks guys..

Pat: That festival would be cool. But it's supposed to be around now. And I am leaving in two months so...
Oh..and you don't need a computer to paint.

VGTA: Thanks for the advice. Maybe one of those six flag type parks would be cool to visit. I've never been in one of those.
It gets hot in August..well thank you for the reassuring information. I leave August 20...hehe
The DMA..Yeah..I'll definately try to go there. I looked at their collection and it doesn't look like it's that spectacular. But as art museums go..they are always worth a visit.

Hamster... Replace point three with eating donuts and drinking rootbeer and you have pretty much described what I expect out of this. Hehe
