Here's my character Nicholas. He's been the subject of so many of my drawings lately. Not much more to say really.

What's the story behind this?
Why do you like this character so much?

Thanks for responding Max. The guy's actually wearing his riding cape. It just looks like that. Story behind this? None really. It popped into my head when I was listening to some music (that's how a lot of my paintings come about). Why do I like him so much? Well, I rarely come up with characters, so when I do I get really attached to them and start drawing them obsessively. This guy is just my favorite. All my other characters work for him!

Howdy! Just wanted to say that I love this pic and char design! I've watched the various posts and evolution of Nick (wonder if he hates that nickname )...I really think you did an awesome job especially on the character design and wish we knew more about him! (really liked the other one, the self destruct one too). Love the style.
If I had a crit, which of course shouldn't be taken too seriously since I'm no great digital art authority, it would just be that it needs a background of some sort. It looks just a little blank imho. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more!

Hey thanks Merystic! Wow, I didn't think anyone was actually paying attention to this character. If you're really interested in him you can go to his section of my website (here) and look at everything I've done of him. I did originally have a background with clouds and a field, but it really didn't look right, and I hadn't tried a flat background before. As for calling him Nick, well I call him Nikki sometimes.

Wow! Hey, thanks for that link, I hadn't seen most of those...I'm saving like half of them as I speak It's nice to see versatile art...there was painted stuff, there was digital stuff, there was cel-style stuff. Wow. Did you design Katie's riding gear and Nikki's (lol) outfit?! I would have seriously hurt myself if attempting such detailwork. Anyway, thanks for sharing that little link, I really enjoy the imagination and design here! I aspire to create chars like Nicholas. I look forward to seeing more soon (hint hint), so please keep em coming!

Hehe, glad you're enjoying yourself. Yeah, I had to design all of the costumes and riding gear. Nicholas' outfit took me a whole day to design. Katie's wasn't too hard. Jeremy's took a few hours, but I haven't even finished a full bodied picture of him yet. Did you see the steps I put up for that picture of Jeremy? They sort of show how I did that picture. I do have some custom brushes that give me texture. I didn't have any reference.

As for Josh, that's a longer story. Josh is Turok, and Turok is a videogame. Turok is also the origin of my username. I've done fanart after fanart of him here in the fanart part of my site. Oh, and that senveancolored one, I drew that when I was soooo depressed. Some of my bet Nicholas pictures happen when I'm feeling down. I'll have something new shortly, I hope. Maybe this weekend.
