The first picture was inspired by that movie, the final fight sequence with that back breaking kick. That's my reference, the movie. It's more of a cartooned versioned. Done comletely on Photoshop. The second is just a sketch done on paper, then inked, then scanned.

What the heck? You're replying to compliment yourself in your own thread? :P
My advice to you is to NEVER use filters. If you want to create a motion effect, try painting it freehand! Same thing goes for fire, bro. It'll make your finished piece seem a lot more genuine. |

Were you trying to login under a different account and compliment your own work? |

tree: i don't he was commenting his own work, just stating he liked his 2nd picture more then the 1st. nothing wrong with that.
i actualy think the 2nd one is ok. you should try and colour that one. but the head seems to have some issues. it seems a but too long. too much space above the eyebrows, just drop it down a bit. but keep at it. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

wow, he might have just been bumping his thread, too, ya know? chill out, people.
i like the first one. the fire looks incredible I even like the filtered motion effect! .. dont take Tree Merchants advice so seriously. A lot of people here are against filters because everyone else is against them. If you can use them in a smart way (like you've certainly done with the fire), then go forth and do so. They're part of what digital art is, i think. |

Heh, calm down boys, I was hardly reprimanding the boy. I was just asking a question. And his "VOID" post seemed rather peculiar to me. |

I didn't use a filter for the motion effect actually. I just copied and pasted them behind one another, lowering the opacity everytime by 10%. But thanks! |

Well it looks like something a filter would do. And you did you a filter on the flames. Zoom I think, right? I like the second one better too. |

the first one isnt taht great either, if u want to use filters, u must know how to use them properly, for that kind of motion blur, i'll recommend, well... motion blur, apply it on varying levels on multiple seperate duplicate layers and spread them out
plus, work on those poses, its like, the guy on the right wants to lose his balls?
also, the light from the fire should have some impact on the guys

I think you need at least a year of practice... Come back later, will you? Look, there are plenty of boards that have artists of your skill level, try http://www.howtodrawmanga.com bulletin board for example. You should always try to stick to the group you belong to, until you're good enough to advance.

Spare us the altruistic bullshit. If something is crap, count on someone letting them know exactly that. |

Loxley, you certainly run your mouth a lot, but I have yet to see you post something. Can you even pick up a pencil? Do you know what a paintbrush is? Or are you just some stick-up-the-ass idiot who likes to run people down?
I'm gonna put my money on the latter of the two.
Asurfael, your work isn't much better. You've also been around for .. what, a month? Where do you get off? Or do you think you can treat people like shit just because you're a *gasp* girl? |

The best part of this thread is a guy with "An artist cannot fail; it is a success to be one" as his signature is telling someone they aren't good enough to post.
Glad to know there's someone out there qualified to actually decied who is and isn't an artist. What degree covers that, Asurfael, and do you make good money having gotten it? |

The irony in that statement is painfully amusing. |
