Anywho, I know the anatomy is quite off, so I'm not really looking for help on that, but anything else you can suggest would be just great.

Try and draw real people. That way you'll learn the anatomy better. When you can draw real people, then you can start to make the characters like you want them. Remember, you've got to know the rules before you can break them, and you can't run before you can walk. A good foundation in anatomy is what's needed. So, how long did it take you to draw? An hour? Two maybe?

On other stuff: Don't use the smudge tool that much (the flames look really messy, I'm assuming you used smudge), and if you want to draw basic surfaces with a big brush, put the spacing to 1% or put the spacing off entirely. Big spacing can give some interesting effects, but with the black applied on the flames (smoke?) it just gives a jagged and a very computer-like appearance.

its alright for a start.... if ur just having fun then explore photoshop with all its filters and drew skeleton men. If you are seriously looking at being an illustrator/artist/whatever dont use filters in ur illustrations until u know how to use them to add some jazz here and there. goto life drawing classes, you will be amazed how much they help. stop drawing skeleton men.

matt: I know quite a bit about the filters and their uses, I do a lot of other stuff that maximizes the filters uses, I'll put up a couple just so you guys can oggle (or not oggle, its your choice)

its just proof that I'm not a sucky suck suck. So what I'm trying to say is that I know how to use the filters, and that I just didn't really put much effort into the backround. Like its just there to improve the pic slightly, its not something i spent hours laboring on (as I should have :P)
hope you guys enjoy.

You seem to make better graphics than what you draw. I like those quite a lot.

those are pretty good graphics u got there. i dont know if u wanted the aliasing on those ripples, but if not check that out, needs to be antialiased. that doesnt change the way i feel about filters tho, hehe. my friend does awesome stuff just by using alpha maps, layer adjustments, photographs and stuff like that. he used to be filter mad, but after he stopped using them his work got much better... they seem to limit your creativity to wierd looking smudges, boxes and whirrly things. keep up the interesting stuff tho, and dont take my comments personally, im just 1 voice.
