I'll follow pixelsoldiers example and post some art instead of nagging... Havent posted here in like 6-7months.. some new stuff that I made for fun, or for improving my portfolio.

Here's a bit of a Giger-rip off, but I wanted todo some alienlandscape similar to his style or something. First painting in probably a halfyear..

Some perspective practice.

Uhm.. well very exciting pic.. or not. Just.. trying to get back with painting.

Valentines stuff, just for fun.

Just working on my rusty skills..

Practicing drawing heads.

Tried mimicing Roundeye's style..failed.

latest..practicing painting heads again

*phew* comments appriciated..

Awesome work man, keep it up! Particularly like the Alien Landscape and the Valentines compositions, very moody.

Incredible work. I especially like the third, fourth, and fifth.

The bounce light from the ship on the rocks is especially well-placed in the fifth. The texture work on the heart is really creepy - great look. And I totally dig the REALLY complex lighting scheme you're working with in the second image.

Your sketches seem to be skewed. I do this too, try rotating the page every now and then to make sure your drawing is balanced. Confident lines!

You also might wanna look at your values in the first image. The background and foreground seem to be equal in contrast. Maybe some cool environmental effects like fog or myst could help set the background apart from the foreground a bit.

The Valentines one is beautiful. I love stuff with that look. What techniques did you use to get those textures?

really inspiring. portraits are neat have a interesting style to them. The firt headpainting in great, though I think that there are a few proportion issues. One other think, most of the work is very centered. Something I notice, might want to watch that.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention, reference was used for the pen-sketch & the grayscale girl painting.

Pixel: Yes, I concur, I really need to practice on my skills with the pen, i'm not very confident with it.
Hm.. probably right with the values, but I thought I had added fog, its a bit subtle..thanks anyways.

Thanks for the positive comments!

Funfetus: Glad you like it! One of my favourites as well. I usually just play around with adding texture-layers & putting "Overlay" as blending mode, while mixing around with the opacity of them.

Swarm: Yeah I know.. I just need to find the time for practicing on it. But they do look alot better in reallife, my scanner really really really sucks, its very old..

Basement Bound: "One other think, most of the work is very centered" <- I'm not sure I know what you mean with that. You mean that i place everything very centered on the face? (ears, nose etc)? I could agree that the perspective of her nose is quite off though.

edit: oh wait, now i know what you mean..that my composition in my pics usually goes towards the center. Yes that is..quite correct heh, need to practice on some more interesting compositions.
