perhaps more contrast will bring the image more to life? |

i like the textures in this piece and i can see that you tried very hard to bring out some detailing in your work.
the first thing that comes to my attention is the stature of the subject. i think you need to give your character a more dynamic pose when your first draw the basic outlines. but that can go wrong in any piece you paint.
the second thing that bothers me is the flat planes throughout the picture. the textures are well executed but they are consistent without broad shadows and highlights. making the picture look flat. so what you need to do is put alot of highlights throughout the piece. the rocks are just great, but they lack shape. get out the black and start putting in some deep shadows to make them appear that they are 3D.
consider your light source and start putting in the shadows and highlights according to that.
does that make sense?
(how did you make that rock texture?)
keep it up! ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

ok..
I added more contrast and tryed to pop those rocks out with shadows and highlights
here it is
To do the textures I used a high contrast version of the base drawing as a texture for the light effect.
Then added a new layer with a picture of rocks, stretched it here and there and then retouched it adding more effects. |
