great image...its a little bit small tho.
i like the banner, and the dead space marines hung on sticks (although they look like they are walking on stilts)
i don't think "haunted house" grass and tree really fit in with the whole 40k feeling. but other than that it looks good. nice details, nice painting they look like terminators. good stuff
keep em coming, welcome to the forum. |

nice piece.
really nice rendering on a lot of stuff.
i think the tree needs a splash of yellow from the FG lightsource.
Also, did you do a render/light thingy in photoshop? sometimes that looks cool, don't think it's working here as there's a spotlight looking thing that makes the sky look flat.
how big is the original?

jerO:yeh i did the spotlight to put the background marines in shadow(as if some thing was on fire/bright explosion etc..over the hill)yeh true the sky looks flatish, most people do seem to scan in their sky's though, must pratice then
the original images was about 6 by 8 inches i think.but worked on the marines separately |

what rez are you working at?
i'm generally 6x9 @ 300 because that fits most CCG work
trying to think ahead.
the last piece i did would doubled vertically to 12x9 @300.
you could totally use sky ref like that... scan something in and just overpaint it enough that it fits well with your image.
